VAIN has volunteer opportunities for everyone. If you just want to volunteer a few hours a month, or if you want to make a deeper commitment, VAIN can sure use your help. We are committed to working with all our volunteers to expand not only their understanding of HIV/AIDS, but to develop their leadership abilities by including public speaking and organizing information in our trainings, and by developing volunteers to be ambassadors and organizers.

O U T R E A C H
Web Designer/Graphics person needed with some graphic design experience and/or skill in writing to work with the ongoing management and development of our web site www.ValleyAIDSInfo.org and create informational and promotional pieces. Website design and development experience a must. Joomla software experience required.
Planning Committee Members VAIN AIDS Walk May 6th 2012 We are currently recruiting volunteers to join our AIDS Walk Planning Team. VAIN will be planning it's first annual AIDS Walk to take place on May 6th, 2012. We are seeking individuals interested in the planning and implementation of an annual AIDS Walk community awareness and fundraising event. One monthly meeting is required and is normally in the evening during the week for one to two hours.
HIV/AIDS Community Educators
HIV Positive Speakers are the core of our most important services. They go out into to community and educate others directly, presenting in schools from middle school up to college, at private functions, and to organizations both large and small. If you are HIV positive and have a story to tell, we want to talk to you!
Positive Allies Education Group is a group of committed allies addressing the issues of HIV/AIDS in Linn and Benton Counties. This group receives extensive training on both the medical and social justice aspects of HIV/AIDS Activism and become community ambassadors participating in various speaking and presentation opportunities to community organizations and companies of all sizes. HIV101, STI & Hepatitis-C Presentation skills training provided.
Information Tabling is where volunteers attend functions around Benton and Linn counties at various community events, schools and colleges to help with the presentation of information to event attendees, answer questions, and pass out brochures and informational pamphlets. Tabling shifts are variable, often four to six hours, and in return you gain extensive training and you get to attend the event for free!

Volunteer Coordinator is a key Team Leader position requiring a solid commitment. This individual will be responsible for all recruiting activities, trainings and scheduling oversight of all non-board level volunteers. This position requires a minimum of two years past supervisory experience in a team oriented environment or you may be able to substitute experience with related year for year of college experience. This position requires you to attend two monthly meetings in the evenings; Volunteer Meeting/Booster Trainings that are held on the Second Tuesday of each month from 6pm - 9pm and the Board of Directors Meeting held on the Third Tuesday of every month from 6pm – 8pm. Both take place in Corvallis. This key team leader position actively recruits and trains all new volunteers. Manages monthly Volunteer Meetings and assists in trainings and monthly booster trainings. Current HIV/AIDS, STI and hepatitis-C basic knowledge is preferred, or we may be willing to train the right person. Of course, actual volunteer coordinator experience is a huge plus!
Intern opportunities available! We need someone to assist our Annual AIDS Walk Committee to complete it's work. Must have excellent people skills and the desire to learn and work hard while volunteering. Assist with Planning process through implementation in Spring 2012. Also, we need volunteers for day of the event.
Salaries
VAIN is a 100% all volunteer community based non-profit organization so the pay is non-existent, but the rewards are superior.
