VAIN has volunteer opportunities for everyone. If you just want to volunteer a few hours a month, or if you want to make a deeper commitment, VAIN can use your help. VAIN currently has the following volunteer opportunities available: Hotline Volunteers answer calls from Benton and Linn counties, give references to other local support organizations, discuss information and issues related to HIV, and often just listen. The hotline is the front line: you will be speaking with persons living with HIV and AIDS, health professionals, and others who simply need accurate information. Hotline shifts are generally four to six hours each, on your schedule, and at your location. Booth Volunteers attend functions around Benton and Linn counties, and occasionally out of the area, such as the Albany Fall Festival, the Benton County Fair, the Linn County Fair, and other events. You will help with the presentation of information to other event attendees, answer questions, and pass out flyers and brochures. Booth shifts are variable, often four to six hours, and in return you may get to attend the event for free! We are also seeking persons with graphic design experience or skill in writing to help with the ongoing development of our web site, informational brochures, and promotional material. The pay is non-existent, but the rewards are great. Even if you don't see the right opportunity for you listed here, we can probably use your help!
